The aim of this study is to compare the Invitro dissolution profiles of telmisartan- HP- β CD tablet formulations with marketed brand (creaser) telmisartan formulations. Telmisartan (TLM) is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist used in the treatment of hypertension. It is practically insoluble in water and it shows low dissolution profile and poor absorption. The solubility of telmisartan in aqueous solution is strongly pH dependent. In order to improve the solubility Complexation technique is selected to formulate the tablets and the results are compared with marketed formulation. In present comparative studies were done for marketed formulations and optimized formulation in four dissolution mediums of (0.1N HCL, phosphate buffer pH 7.5, acetate buffer pH 4.5, and distilled water) were employed and the paddle was set at 75 rpm. Hence optimized formulation was shown highest release in all mediums more than 80%drug release. However the drug release in all formulations followed first order kinetics .The similarity factor (f2) was shown more than 50% in all mediums except in acetate buffer it showed less than 50%. This is due to dissolution rate was dependent on formulation and dissolution medium....
